The Temple Theatre Foundation

The Temple Theatre Foundation was formed with a 501(c)3 charitable status as an operating foundation on May 28, 2009. Our mission is that the Temple Theatre Foundation strengthens the arts and cultural fabric of the Great Lakes Bay Region by providing a historic performing arts center and serving as an administrative hub for arts organizations.

Area arts groups are under increasing pressure to survive, let alone thrive. Increasingly scarce resources coupled with increasing demand for basic human services are forcing these organizations to find new ways to collaborate and consolidate. With over 67,000 square feet of space in the Shaheen Performing Arts Center facility, there is room to share and grow. The Temple Theatre Foundation is in a unique position to support and facilitate collaboration among area arts organizations. The possibilities include:

  • Provision of ticketing services and event marketing
  • Shared office equipment
  • Reduced monthly rental fees for arts group tenants
  • Shared staffing

Through growth of the Temple Theatre Foundation Endowment the organization can continue to be a catalyst for the sustainability and expansion of arts and cultural experiences in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Preservation of the unique historical Temple Theatre venue is a priority and will serve as a cultural hub for the region and a welcoming beacon for the Downtown Saginaw cultural district.
