A teen down on his luck works at the snob-infested Bushwood Country Club to raise money for college. To gain votes for a scholarship reserved for caddies, he volunteers to caddy for a stuffy but influential club member. But he struggles to simultaneously prepare for the Caddy Day golf tournament while absorbing New Age advice from wealthy and wise-cracking golf guru.
