Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker November 3, 2019

Moscow Ballet brings the Gift of Christmas Tour to Saginaw with Great Russian Nutcracker performances bringing holiday magic to life and creating unforgettable memories for all ages.

Moscow Ballet makes Christmas gift giving easy with the holiday performance that delights all ages…from the life-sized Kissy Doll to the fierce, red-eyed Rat King; and the Russian Troika Sleigh bringing Masha through the Snow Forest to the Land of Peace and Harmony which is populated with 10 foot tall dancing puppets, exotic flying birds and dancing couples from the world’s five great heritages.

The Great Russian Nutcracker features award-winning Principal Ballerinas and Danseurs from the top ballet academies in Russia and a large corps de ballet.

In addition to the Great Russian Nutcracker and other classic ballet performances, Moscow Ballet advocates for community engagement in the arts and sends advance dancers to tour cities. These dancers audition local ballet students for children’s roles in the performances, see Dance-with-Us for more information on this program.

Audition Information:

The Temple Theatre is hosting open auditions for children 6-18 for roles in the nutcracker  There are as many as 60 roles for young dancers including party children, mice, snowflakes, snow maidens and variations.

First Audition and Rehearsal dates are:
8/22 4:00pm-8:00pm Audition with rehearsal following.
8/23-9am-2pm Rehearsal with ballerina Alisa Bolotnikova

There will be 5 Sunday rehearsals leading up to the performance from 1pm-5pm with a final dress rehearsal on stage.
The dates are: 9/22, 9/29, 0/13, 10/20, 10/27 and dress rehearsal TBD.
The performance is 11/3/19 at 5pm.

Important notes:

• There is no fee to audition.
• If your child is cast there is a $50.00 participation fee payable to the Temple Theatre.
• We will be implementing a new Facebook group this year for all rehearsal schedules and updates.
• Dancer’s Friends & Family are entitled to a 20% discount on tickets by calling our box office at (989) 754-SHOW.
